The main body ECU controls the inside handle illumination.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION)

(a) Using the Techstream, perform the Active Test Interior Lighting System.

OK:

Inside handle illumination comes on.

C -- INSPECT NO. 2 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY

B -- INSPECT NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY (FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION)

A -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Interior Lighting System

2. INSPECT NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY (FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION)

(a) Remove the No. 1 interior illumination light Removal.





(b) Connect a positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 2 and check that the light comes on.

OK:

Light comes on.

NG -- REPLACE NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the h2 or g3 No. 1 interior illumination light connector.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

for LH
for RH

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU)

(a) Disconnect the h2 or g3 No. 1 interior illumination light connector.

(b) Remove the main body ECU Removal.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

for LH
for RH










NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) Removal

5. INSPECT NO. 2 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the No. 2 interior illumination light Removal.





(b) Connect a positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 2 and check that the light comes on.

OK:

Light comes on.

NG -- REPLACE NO. 2 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - NO. 2 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the j2 or i2 No. 2 interior illumination light connector.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

for LH
for RH

OK -- Continue to next step.

7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU)

(a) Disconnect the j2 or i2 No. 2 interior illumination light connector.

(b) Remove the main body ECU Removal.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

for LH
for RH










NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) Removal
