Applicability

Introduction

Some 2008 - 2010 model year Japan-built Highlander and Highlander HV vehicles equipped with a factory theft deterrent system may exhibit a condition where the security horn is inappropriately triggered and the vehicle has not been disturbed.

Production Change Information





This TSB applies to all 2008 - 2009 vehicles and 2010 vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown.





Warranty Information

APPLICABLE WARRANTY

^ This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

^ Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.





Parts Information

Repair Procedure

1. Remove the hood lock control cable assembly.

NOTE

^ For all vehicles follow the procedure for removal of the hood lock assembly "with Engine Hood Courtesy Switch".

^ Disconnect the control cable from the latch assembly but do NOT remove the control cable from the vehicle.
