INTRODUCTION:
Some 2008 - 2010 model year Japan-built Highlander and Highlander HV vehicles equipped with a factory theft deterrent system may exhibit a condition where the security horn is inappropriately triggered and the vehicle has not been disturbed.

This TSB applies to all 2008 - 2009 vehicles and 2010 vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Remove the hood lock control cable assembly.

NOTE:
- For all vehicles follow the procedure for removal of the hood lock assembly "with Engine Hood Courtesy Switch".
- Disconnect the control cable from the latch assembly but do NOT remove the control cable from the vehicle.

2. Install the NEW hood lock control cable assembly.
