Compressor HVAC: Service and Repair

1. Run engine at idle with A/C on for at least ten minutes.
2. Shut off engine, then disconnect battery ground cable and discharge system refrigerant.
3. Disconnect clutch lead wire from wiring harness.
4. Disconnect refrigerant lines at compressor, capping all openings.
5. On Pickup and Corolla models, remove fan shroud.
6. On all models, loosen compressor drive belt, then remove compressor mounting bolts and the compressor.
7. Reverse procedure to install, then evacuate and recharge system and check for leaks.
