Starter Motor: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable. Remove battery, battery tray and/or igniter bracket, if necessary.
2. Disconnect electrical connectors from starter motor.
3. Remove air cleaner assembly, if necessary.
4. On models with automatic transmission, remove transmission oil filler tube if necessary.
5. On Corolla FF and Camry models with diesel engines, remove radiator assembly.
6. On all models, remove starter motor attaching bolts, heat shield (if equipped), then the starter motor.
7. Reverse procedure to install.
