Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Discharge refrigerant from system.
3. Disconnect refrigerant lines from evaporator case and cap lines.
4. Remove grommets from refrigerant lines.
5. Remove glove box assembly.
6. Remove side air duct and air duct band.
7. Remove A/C electrical connectors.
8. Remove two nuts, two screws and a bolt securing evaporator case, then remove case.
9. Remove self tapping screw securing thermistor, then remove thermistor.
10. Remove clamps and screws attaching both halves of evaporator case.
11. Remove two self tapping screws, then remove evaporator case cover.
12. Separate evaporator case and remove evaporator core, Fig. 5.

13. Remove expansion valve and pressure switch from evaporator core, Fig. 4.
14. Reverse procedure to install.
