Pulsair Valve: Testing and Inspection

1981-82 3A-C Engine
1. Remove filter and air suction valve "A" from air cleaner.

2. Check air suction valve by blowing and sucking on pipe. There should be no air passage when blown hard but there should be air passage when sucked.

3. Install filter and air suction valve "A".

4. Remove air suction valve "B".

5. Apply vacuum to air suction valve diaphragm. Air should flow from filter side to outlet pipes side but not from outlet pipes side to air filter side.

6. Release vacuum and check that air does not flow from filter side to outlet pipes side.

7. Install air suction valve "B".

1981-82 Pickup Except California
1. Check that air flows from air cleaner side to outlet pipes side.

2. Check that air does not flow from outlet pipes side to air cleaner side.
