1. Disconnect throttle position sensor wire connector.
2. Using suitable ohmmeter and feeler gauge inserted between throttle lever and stop screw, take the following resistance measurements:
a. With throttle lever to stop clearance of 0.0224 inch (.57 mm), measure between IDL and E1, Fig. 62. Continuity should exist.
b. With throttle lever to stop clearance as set in step a., measure between PSW and E1. Continuity should not exist.
c. With throttle lever to stop clearance as set in step a., measure between Psw and IDL. Continuity should not exist.
d. With throttle lever to stop clearance of 0.0335 inch (.85 mm), measure between IDL and E1, Fig. 62. Continuity should not exist.
e. With throttle lever to stop clearance as set in step d., measure between Psw and E1. Continuity should not exist.
f. With throttle lever to stop clearance as set in step d., measure between Psw and IDL. Continuity should not exist.
g. With throttle valve fully opened, measure between IDL and E1, Fig. 62. Continuity should not exist.
h. With throttle valve fully opened, measure between PSW and E1, continuity should exist.
i. With throttle valve fully opened, measure between IDL and PSW, continuity should not exist.
3. If switch fails to operate as specified, replace sensor and throttle body as an assembly.
