Hardtop - Sport Roof Panel Installation Cautions

When re-installing the roof panel on 1986 1/2 Supras equipped with the Sport Roof option, follow the procedures listed on pages 44-46 of the owner's manual.. In addition, the following precautions should be observed:
"A" Pillar:
^ The A pillar mouldings may be too high on some vehicles, causing difficulty in re-installing the roof panel. Gently tap the moulding down until only the soft rubber end extends past the A pillar (see Fig. 1). This will allow the roof panel to fit properly. Do Not attempt to align the roof panel by forcing the securing bolts.
^ Installation of the roof panel can only be accomplished with the vehicle parked on LEVEL ground.
Tool Kit:
The tool kit provided with the car includes the proper tools to remove and re-install the Sport Roof Panel, as well as protective caps to put over the front retaining bolts while the top is removed. These parts are available through the Parts Distribution System by the following part numbers:
