Cruise Control Switch: Service and Repair


HEADLIGHT & DIMMER SWITCH

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove steering wheel and upper and lower steering column covers.
2. Disconnect combination switch connector, then using a small screwdriver, disengage headlight and dimmer switch wiring from combination switch connector. Note position of wires.

3. Remove screws, headlight and dimmer switch, then ball and spring assembly, Fig. 13.
4. Install headlight and dimmer switch onto combination switch.

5. Insert spring into headlight and dimmer lever, than install lever and screw onto combination switch, Fig. 14.

6. Position ball on the spring, Fig. 15 and place headlight and dimmer switch lever into HI position. Install screws and clamp, Fig. 15.
7. Ensure switch operates smoothly in each position.
8. Install electrical terminals into combination switch connector in the same position as they were removed.
9. Install combination switch connector, then the steering column upper and lower covers and steering wheel.
10. Connect battery ground cable.

HAZARD & TURN SIGNAL SWITCH

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove steering wheel and upper and lower steering column covers.
2. Disconnect hazard and turn signal switch connector, then using a small screwdriver, disengage hazard and turn signal switch wiring from combination switch connector. Note position of wires.
3. Remove screws, clamp, hazard and turn signal switch assembly from combination switch.
4. Reverse procedure to install.

WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER SWITCH

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove steering wheel and upper and lower steering column covers.
2. Disconnect wire terminal from horn contact (if equipped).
3. Disconnect windshield wiper/washer switch connector, then using a small screwdriver, disengage windshield wiper/washer switch wiring from combination switch connector. Note position of wires.
4. Remove screw, clamp and windshield wiper/washer switch assembly.
5. Reverse procedure to install.
