INTERMITTENT ENGAGEMENT OF OVERDRIVE (REVISED)
This TSB supersedes TM9202, dated 3/20/92.

CONDITION:
Intermittent loss of overdrive when the engine is at a normal operating temperature and at speeds above 45 mph.

CAUSE:
High resistance in the E-17 splice (THW circuit).





CORRECTION:
Clean the E-17 splice and then solder. The E-17 splice is located behind the power steering reservoir (see illustration).


NOTE:
Refer to production countermeasures.





INTERMITTENT ENGAGEMENT OF OVERDRIVE

PRODUCTION COUNTERMEASURES:

The following improvements have been implemented:

^ The THW splice has been relocated to the right kick panel area.
^ The new THW splice is referenced as the 1-15 splice.
