Vehicle Damage Warnings

SYSTEM PRECAUTIONS
- Care must be taken to replace each part properly as it could affect the performance of the brake system and result a driving hazard. Replace the parts with parts of the same part number or equivalent.
- It is very important to keep parts and the area clean when repairing the brake system.
- Grease or any other foreign material must be kept off the caliper, surfaces of the disc and external surfaces of the hub, during service procedures. Handling the brake disc and caliper should be done in a way to avoid deformation of the disc and nicking or scratching brake linings.
- If inspection reveals rubber piston seals are worn or damaged, they should be replaced.
- During removal and installation of a wheel assembly, exercise care so as not to interfere with or damage the caliper splash shield, or bleeder screw.
- Front wheel bearings should be adjusted to specifications.
- Be sure vehicle is centered on hoist before servicing any of the front end components to avoid bending or damaging the disc splash shield on full right or left wheel turns.
- Before the vehicle is moved after any brake service work, be sure to obtain a firm brake pedal.
- The assembly bolts of the two caliper housings should not be disturbed unless the caliper requires service.

USE ONLY DOT 3 BRAKE FLUID:
- Use of brake fluid with a lower boiling point than DOT 3 fluid could result in brake failure during long, hard braking.
- Do not use fluid which has been stored in an unsealed container. Brake fluid stored in this manner will absorb moisture which could result in brake failure during long, hard braking.
- Never use gasoline, kerosene, motor oil, transmission fluid, or any fluid containing mineral oil to clean brake system components. These fluids will damage the rubber caps and seals. If system contamination is suspected, check brake fluid in the reservoir for dirt, discoloration, or separation (breakdown) of the brake fluid into distinct layers. Drain and flush the hydraulic system with clean brake fluid if contamination is suspected.
