Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Testing and Inspection
INSPECTIONInspect Resistance Of Volume Air Flow Meter
1. Disconnect the volume air flow meter connector.
2. Using an ohmmeter. measure the resistance between each terminal.
Resistance between terminals VS - E2: 200 - 600 ohms
Resistance between terminals VC - E2: 200 - 400 ohms
Resistance between terminals THA - E2:
10 - 20 k ohms at -20°C (-4°F)
4 - 7 k ohms at 0°C (32°F)
2 - 3 k ohms at 20°C (68°F)
0.9 - 1.3 k ohms at 40°C (104°F)
0.4 - 0.7 k ohms at 60°C (140°F)
Resistance between terminals VS - E2:
200 - 600 ohms with measuring plate closed
20 - 1200 ohms with measuring plate fully open
If the resistance is not as specified, replace the volume air flow meter.
3. Reconnect the volume air flow meter connector.
