Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Testing and Inspection

INSPECTION

1. Drain engine coolant.
2. Remove engine coolant temperature sensor.

- Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.
- Using a 19 mm deep socket wrench, remove the engine coolant temperature sensor and gasket.

3. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.

Resistance: Refer to the chart graph above.

- If the resistance is not as specified, replace the engine coolant temperature sensor.
4. Reinstall engine coolant temperature sensor.
- Using a 19 mm deep socket wrench, install the engine coolant temperature sensor and gasket.

Torque: 20 Nm (14 ft lb)

- Connect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.
5. Refill engine coolant.
