Throttle Position Sensor: Adjustments

PROCEDURE





1. Loosen the 2 set screws of the throttle position sensor.





2. Apply vacuum to the throttle opener.
3. Insert a 0.62 mm (0.024 in.) feeler gauge between the throttle stop screw and stop lever.
4. Connect the test probe of an ohmmeter to the terminals IDL and E2 of the throttle position sensor.





5. Gradually turn the throttle position sensor clockwise until the ohmmeter deflects, and secure it with the 2 set screws.





6. Recheck the continuity between terminals ILD and E2.

With 0.50 mm (0.020 in) clearance between lever and stop screw: continuity between terminals IDL and E2
With 0.75 mm (0.030 in) clearance between lever and stop screw: NO continuity between terminals IDL and E2
