Front
Front Speed Sensor:
SPEED SENSOR INSPECTION
1. Inspect Speed Sensor
a. Disconnect the speed sensor connector.
Front Speed Sensor Inspection:
b. Measure the resistance between terminals,
Resistance: 0.9-1.5 kOhms
If resistance value is not as specified, replace the sensor.
Front Speed Sensor Inspection:
c. Check that there is no continuity between each terminal and sensor body.
If there is continuity, replace the sensor.
d. Connect the speed sensor connector.
2. Inspect Sensor Installation
a. Check that the sensor installation bolt is tightened properly. If not, tighten the bolt.
Torque: 7.8 Nm (69 in.lb)
Front Speed Sensor Inspection:
b. Check that there is no clearance between the sensor and steering knuckle.
3. Visually Inspect Sensor Rotor Serrations
a. Remove the sensor rotor.
Front Speed Sensor Inspection:
b. Inspect the sensor rotor serration for scratches, cracks, warping or missing teeth.
c. Install the sensor rotor.
NOTE: To prevent damage to the serrations, do not strike the sensor rotor.
SPEED SENSOR AND SENSOR ROTOR SERRATIONS INSPECTION
NOTE: Inspect speed sensor and sensor rotor serrations by using an oscilloscope
a. Connect an oscilloscope to the speed sensor connector.
Front Speed Sensor Inspection Wave Forms:
b. Run the vehicle at 20 km/h (12.4 mph), and inspect speed sensor output wave.
c. Check that C is 0.5 Volts or more.
If it is not as specified, replace the speed sensor.
e. Check that B is 50% or more of A.
If it is not as specified, replace the sensor rotor.
f. Remove the oscilloscope and connect the connector.
