Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The intake air temperature sensor determines the temperature of the air entering the engine. The ECM uses the sensor data to compensate for changes in air density because of temperature changes.

LOCATION
The sensor is mounted to the air cleaner box on the left side of the engine compartment.
