INSPECTION PROCEDURE

VSV For Fuel Pressure Control Circuit:

1. CHECK VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE (VSV) FOR FUEL PRESSURE CONTROL.
(a) Remove VSV.
(b) Disconnect VSV connector.

(c) Measure resistance between terminals.
Resistance: 33 to 39 Ohms at 20°C (68°F)

(d) Measure resistance between each terminal and the body.
Resistance: 1 M-Ohm or higher
(e) Check operation of VSV when battery positive voltage is applied to the terminals of the VSV for fuel pressure control.

Voltage applied: Air should flow from pipe E out through the air filter. .

Voltage not applied: Air should flow from pipe E out through pipe G.
^ If OK proceed to step 2.
^ If not OK replace VSV.

2. CHECK VOLTAGE BETWEEN TERMINAL FPU OF ECM CONNECTOR AND BODY GROUND.
(a) Connect the Check Harness A.
(b) Turn Ignition Switch ON.

(c) Measure the voltage between terminal FPU of ECM connector and body ground.
Voltage: 9 to 14 volts
^ If OK proceed to "Diagnosis By Symptom".
Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
^ If not OK proceed to step 3.

3. CHECK FOR OPEN AND SHORT IN HARNESS AND CONNECTOR BETWEEN ECM AND VSV, VSV AND EFI MAIN RELAY.
^ If OK check and replace ECM.
^ If not OK repair or replace harness or connector.
