Ignition Lock: Service and Repair













NOTE:
The ignition lock is located on the dash, however, it is attached to the steering column (see the above example). For complete removal and replacement refer to: Steering Column; Service and Repair

Lock Cylinder

Ignition Lock:





1. Obtain audio anti-theft code, if equipped, as outlined in Technician Safety Information.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Turn ignition switch to ACC position.
4. Remove steering column covers.
5. Insert a small diameter rod into hole located on side of lock cylinder, then while holding down pin, remove lock cylinder.
6. Reverse procedure to install. Ensure lock cylinder is in ACC position. Reset audio coded anti-theft system, if equipped, as outlined under Technician Safety Information.
