VALVE BODY

Components





Valve Body Disassembly





1. NOTE THE POSITION OF ADJUSTING SCREW

HINT: Check the position of adjusting screw before disassembly of the valve body because the throttle pressure is changed according to the position. (Some of the valve bodies do not have any position of adjusting screw.)





2. NOTE THE POSITION OF PLUNGER SLEEVE
Note which step at the end of the plunger sleeve is in contact with the valve body.

HINT: Be certain to check this before disassembly because the line pressure changes according to the part of the plunger sleeve which comes into contact with the valve body.





3. REMOVE THROTTLE CAM





4. REMOVE 3 SOLENOIDS
a. Turn over the valve body.
b. Remove the bolt and 3 solenoids.
c. Remove the O-rings from solenoids.





5. REMOVE PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE





6. REMOVE BOLTS FROM LOWER VALVE BODY
Remove the 19 bolts from the lower valve body.





7. LIFT OFF LOWER VALVE BODY WITH PLATE





8. REMOVE LOWER VALVE BODY COVER
a. Remove the 2 bolts and the cover.
b. Remove the 2 gaskets and plate.





9. REMOVE PLATE FROM LOWER VALVE BODY
Remove the 2 screws and plate.

Valve Body Assembly








1. POSITION PLATE AND NEW GASKETS ON LOWER VALVE BODY
Position a new No.1 and No.2 gaskets on the lower valve body.

HINT: The gaskets are not identical, but can be installed in any order.








2. INSTALL PLATE FROM LOWER VALVE BODY
Install the plate with the 2 screws.
3. INSTALL LOWER VALVE BODY COVER
a. Position 2 new gasket to the plate.





b. Install the gasket and plate to the cover.
c. Install the cover with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 6.4 Nm (65 kgf-cm, 56 inch lbs.)





4. PLACE LOWER VALVE BODY WITH PLATE AND GASKETS ON UPPER VALVE BODY
Align each bolt hole in the valve bodies with the gaskets and plate.





5. INSTALL AND FINGER TIGHTEN BOLTS IN LOWER VALVE BODY TO SECURE UPPER VALVE BODY
Install and finger tighten the 19 bolts.

HINT: Each bolt length (mm) is indicated in the illustration.

Torque:
38 mm bolt: 6.4 Nm (65 kgf-cm, 56 inch lbs.)
20 mm bolt: 10 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 7 ft. lbs.)
50 mm bolt: 6.4 Nm (65 kgf-cm, 56 inch lbs.)






6. INSTALL PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE

Torque: 6.4 Nm (65 kgf-cm, 56 inch lbs.)





7. INSTALL 3 SOLENOIDS
a. Coat new O-rings with ATF and install them to the solenoids.
b. Install the 3 solenoids.

HINT: Each both length (mm) is indicated in the illustration.

Torque:
38 mm bolt 6.4 Nm (65 kgf-cm, 56 inch lbs.)
25 mm bolt 10 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 7 ft. lbs.)
