- Disconnect the A/C idle-up valve connector.
- Remove the bolt.
- Disconnect these hoses, and remove the idle - up valve:

1. Air hose (from IACV) from port E of idle-up valve.
2. Air hose (from intake manifold) from port F of idle-up valve.

2. INSPECT IDLE-UP VALVE FOR OPEN CIRCUIT.

- Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity1 between the terminals.

Resistance (Cold): 30 - 34 Ohm

- If there is no continuity, replace the idle-up valve.

3. INSPECT IDLE-UP VALVE FOR INTERNAL GROUND.

- Using an ohmmeter, check that there is no continuity between each terminal and the body.
- If there is continuity, replace the idle-up valve.

4. INSPECT IDLE-UP VALVE OPERATION.

- Check that air does not flow from port E to port F.

- Apply battery voltage across the terminals.
- Check that air flows from port E to port F.
- If operation is not as specified, replace the idle-up valve.

5. REINSTALL IDLE-UP VALVE.
- Connect the following and hoses:

- Air hose (from IACV) from port E of idle-up valve:
- Air hose (from intake manifold) from port F of idle-up valve:
- Install the idle-up valve with the bolt.
- Connect the idle-up valve connector.
