Cold Start Injector: Description and Operation

Cold Start Injector:

PURPOSE
The cold start injector injects extra fuel into the intake air chamber to enrich the fuel mixture during low temperature cranking.

OPERATION
Operation is controlled by the start injector time switch. At coolant temperatures below 15°C (59°F), starter voltage is passed to the injector. To avoid engine flooding, operation is typically less than 10 seconds.
