EGR Temperature Sensor: Testing and Inspection

NOTE: Be sure to perform the "EGR System Functional Inspection" before performing the following test.

EGR GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR INSPECTION




1. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY.
- Refer to Throttle Body Service and Repair




2. REMOVE EGR GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR.
3. INSPECT EGR GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR.



- Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.

At 5O°C (122°F): 64 - 97 K Ohms
At 100°C (212°F): 11 - 16 K Ohms
At 15O°C (3O2°F): 2 - 4 K Ohms

- If the resistance is not as specified, replace the sensor.

4. REINSTALL EGR GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR.
5. REINSTALL THROTTLE BODY.
