REMOVAL
1. Remove air cleaner assembly, then disconnect electrical connector from neutral safety switch.
2. Disconnect shift control cable.
3. Remove shift control lever retaining nut, then remove lever, Fig. 6.
4. Straighten shaft nut locktab, then remove shaft nut.
5. Remove retaining bolts, then neutral safety switch.

INSTALLATION
1. Place switch onto shaft, then install retaining bolts hand tight.
2. Install shaft nut and locktab washer, tighten nut and stake locktab.
3. Install shift arm and nut.
4. Adjust switch as outlined under Adjustment.
