Knock Sensor: Testing and Inspection

1. REMOVE STARTER.





2. REMOVE FUEL FILTER SET BOLTS.





3. REMOVE KNOCK SENSOR.
- Disconnect the knock sensor connector.
- Using SST 09816-30010 or equivalent, remove the knock sensor.





4. INSPECT KNOCK SENSOR.
- Using an ohmmeter, check that there is no continuity between the terminal and body.
- If there is continuity, replace the sensor.
5. REINSTALL KNOCK SENSOR.
- Using SST, install the knock sensor.
SST

Torque: 44 N.m (450 kgf.cm, 33 ft.lbf)

- Connect the knock sensor connector.
6. REINSTALL FUEL FILTER SET BOLTS.

Torque: 20 N.m (200 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf)

7. REINSTALL STARTER.
