EGR Temperature Sensor: Testing and Inspection

COMPONENTS FOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

1. REMOVE EGR VALVE.
2. REMOVE EGR GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR.
Service and Repair





3. INSPECT EGR GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR.
- Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.

Resistance:
At 50°C (122°F): 64 - 97 k ohms
At 100°C (212°F): 11 - 16 k ohms
At 150°C (3O2°F): 2 - 4 k ohms

- If the resistance is not as specified, replace the sensor.
4. REINSTALL EGR GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR.
5. REINSTALL EGR VALVE.
