Electronic Brake Control Module: Testing and Inspection
Measure Voltage At Terminal And Body Ground:
ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) CIRCUIT INSPECTION
1. Inspect system circuit with connector connected.
(a) Remove the ABS Electronic Control Unit (ECU).
(b) Using a voltmeter with high impedance (10 k ohms/V minimum), measure the voltage at each terminal and body ground.

System Circuit Inspection Chart With Connector (Part 2 Of 2):
NOTE: If the circuit is not as specified, check and repair or replace the trouble part shown in the table.
2. Inspect system circuit with connector disconnected.
Disconnect Connectors From ECU:
(a) Disconnect the connectors from the ECU, inspect at the wire harness side connector.
System Circuit Inspection Without Connector Chart:
If the circuit is not as specified, check and repair or replace the trouble part shown in the table.
(b) Connect the connectors, and install the ECU in place.
Measure ECU Terminal Values:
ECU TERMINAL VALUES MEASUREMENT USING TOYOTA BREAK-OUT-BOX AND TOYOTA HAND-HELD TESTER
1. Hook up the TOYOTA hand-held tester and TOYOTA brake-out-box to the vehicle.
2. Read the ECU input/output values by following the prompts on the tester screen.
NOTE: TOYOTA hand-held tester has a "Snapshot" function. This records the measured values and is effective in the diagnosis of intermittent problems.
Please refer to the TOYOTA hand-held tester/ TOYOTA break-out-box operator's manual for further details.
