Cylinder Head

TIGHTENING SEQUENCE/SPECIFICATIONS
Install and uniformly tighten the 14 cylinder head bolts and plate washers, in several passes, in the sequence shown.

1st Pass: Torque to 39 Nm (29 ft. lbs.)
- If any of the cylinder head bolts do not meet the torque specification, replace the cylinder head bolt.





NOTE: Before making 2nd pass, mark the front of the cylinder head bolt head with paint.

2nd Pass: Turn the head bolts an additional 90°.
3rd Pass: Turn the head bolts an additional 90°.

NOTE: Check that the painted mark is now facing rearward.

Head To Timing Chain Cover: 21 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)

Intake Manifold
Intake Manifold To Cylinder Head 21 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)
Intake Chamber Stay To Air Intake Chamber 36 Nm (26 ft. lbs.)
Intake Chamber Stay To Cylinder Block 36 Nm (26 ft. lbs.)

Camshaft Bearing Cap Tightening Torque
Tighten To 16 Nm (12 ft. lbs.)

Camshaft Sprocket Tightening Torque
Tighten To 74 Nm (54 ft. lbs.)

Exhaust Manifold Tightening Torque
Tighten To 39 Nm (29 ft. lbs.)
