Key Reminder Switch: Description and Operation

Current always flows to TERMINAL 3 of the integration relay through the DOME fuse.

1. SEAT BELT WARNING SYSTEM
When the ignition SW is turned to ON position, signal is input to the integration relay and the passenger seat belt warning light.

At this time, to determine whether or not the driver fastens the seat belt, the signal from the seat belt retractor SW LH is input to TERMINAL 5 of the integration relay. If the driver does not fasten the seat belt, the driver seat belt warning light blinks and the alarm buzzer goes ON.

Additionally, the sensor (Seat belt warning occupant detection sensor) installed on the front passenger seat detects the passenger and determines whether or not the passenger fastens the seat belt. If the passenger does not fasten the seat belt, the signals from the seat belt warning occupant detection sensor is input to TERMINAL 3 of the passenger seat belt warning light and from the seat belt retractor SW RH is input to TERMINAL 2 of the passenger seat belt warning light, and the passenger seat belt warning light is blinked.

2. KEY REMINDER SYSTEM
With the ignition key inserted in the key cylinder (unlock warning SW ON), the ignition SW still OFF and door open (door courtesy SW LH ON). When a signal is input TERMINALS 4 and 8 of the integration relay, the integration relay operates, Current flows from TERMINAL 3 of the integration relay to TERMINAL 7 to GROUND and the key reminder buzzer sounds.
