EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM (DTC P0441 / P0446) 1997 MODELS

Model List : RAV, TERCEL, PASEO, CAMRY, AVALON, TACOMA, 4RUNNER, T100

Should any of the above vehicle models exhibit a MIL 'ON' condition due to EVAP system incorrect purge flow or vent control malfunction (DTC: P0441 or P0446), the cause may be due to a clogged vapour line as described in the Diagnostics Section or Engine Trouble-shooting Section of the appropriate Repair Manual. To correct the condition, please follow the procedure below.

1. Remove the vacuum hoses between the EVAP VSV and the charcoal canister and install new vacuum hoses.
2. If there is a vapour pipe between the EVAP VSV and charcoal canister, clean the inside of the vapour pipe, (carbon particles stick to the inside)

3. Replace EVAP VSV and charcoal canister assembly with new parts.
