Knock Sensor: Service and Repair

KNOCK SENSOR









INSPECTION
1. REMOVE OUTER FR COWL TOP PANEL ASSEMBLY.

2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH HOSE.

3. REMOVE RH ENGINE MOUNT STAY.

4. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY. Service and Repair






5. REMOVE KNOCK SENSORS.
(a) Disconnect the knock sensor connector.
(b) Using SST, remove the knock sensor.
SST 09817-16011






6. INSPECT KNOCK SENSORS.
Using an ohmmeter, check that there is no continuity between the terminal and body.
If there is continentia, replace the sensor.

7. REINSTALL KNOCK SENSORS.
(a) Using SST, install the knock sensor.
SST 09817-16011
TORQUE: 39 NM (29 FT. LB.).
(b) Connect the knock sensor connector.

8. REINSTALL WATER OUTLET AND INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY.

9. REINSTALL RH ENGINE MOUNTING STAY.

10. REINSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP WITH HOSE.

11. REINSTALL OUTER FR COWL TOP PANEL ASSEMBLY.
