Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

HINT: At the time of installation, please refer to the following item.
Evacuate air from refrigeration system.
Charge system with refrigerant and inspect for leakage of refrigerant.

Specified amount:
Single A/C: 800 ± 50 g (28.22 ± 1.76 oz.)
Dual A/C (4-Door): 1,250 ± 50 g (44.09 ± 1.76 oz.)
Dual A/C (4-Door): 1,350 ± 50 g (47.61 ± 1.76 oz.)




2. DISCONNECT LIQUID TUBE AND DISCHARGE HOSE
a. Remove the bolt and disconnect the discharge hose.
Torque: 10 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)

b. Loosen the nut and disconnect the liquid tube.
Torque: 14 N.m (140 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf)

NOTE: Cap open the fittings immediately to keep moisture or dirt out of the system.

HINT: At the time of installation, please refer to the following item. Lubricate 2 new O-rings with compressor oil and install them to the tubes.




3. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILL
4. REMOVE 2 UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORTS




5. REMOVE CONDENSER
a. Remove the 2 nuts from condenser brackets.
b. Push the radiator toward engine.
c. Push the condenser toward radiator and pull it upward.

HINT: At the time of installation, please refer to the following item.
If condenser is replaced, add compressor oil to the compressor.

Add 40 - 50 cc (1.4 - 1.7 fl.oz.)
Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent

INSTALLATION

Installation is in the reverse order of removal
