Throttle Body: Service and Repair




REMOVAL

1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT




2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH HOSE

a. Disconnect the MAF meter connector.
b. Disconnect the these hoses:
- EVAP hose from charcoal canister
- PCV hose from cylinder head cover
c. Disconnect the 2 clamps, and disconnect the air cleaner cap from the air cleaner case.
d. Loosen the hose clamp, and disconnect the air cleaner hose from the throttle body.
e. Remove the air cleaner cap with hose.

3. DISCONNECT ACCELERATOR CABLE
4. DISCONNECT THROTTLE CABLE

5. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY




a. Disconnect the throttle position sensor connector.
b. Disconnect the IAC valve connector.
c. Disconnect these hoses:
1. Water bypass hose (from intake manifold)
2. Water bypass hose (from water inlet housing)
3. Air assist hose




d. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts, throttle body and gasket.

HINT: At the time of installation, please refer to the following items.
Place a new gasket on the air intake chamber.
Torque: 19.5 N.m (200 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf)

INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
