Removal and Replacement

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR TRIM
2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Using a clip remover, disconnect the clamps.
c. Remove the 4 bolts and door.

Torque: 8.0 N.m (80 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf)

3. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT
4. REMOVE REAR LUGGAGE TRIM
5. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH SIDE PLATE LH AND RH
6. REMOVE LUGGAGE TRIM LH AND RH
7. REMOVE REAR SEAT
8. REMOVE ROOM PARTITION TRIMS




Remove the 7 clips and room partition trims.

9. REMOVE HIGH-MOUNTED STOP LIGHT




a. Push on the both side of the cover to release the claws by your hand and remove the cover as shown in the illustration.
b. Remove the 2 bolts and high-mounted stop light, then disconnect the connector.

10. REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH




a. Remove the clip.
b. Using a screwdriver, pry loose and remove the garnish.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

11. REMOVE TETHER ANCHOR
a. Using a screwdriver, remove the CRS tether anchor cover.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

b. Remove the tether anchor by loosening the bolt.
c. Employ the same manner described above to the other sides.

12. REMOVE PACKAGE TRAY TRIM




a. Remove the rear seat belt floor anchor bolts.
b. Remove the seat belts with seat belt hole covers from the package tray trim.
c. Remove the package tray trim by pulling forward.

13. REMOVE TORSION BAR




a. Remove the 2 torsion bars from the center bracket.




b. Install SST to the torsion bar on the hinge side.

c. Push down on SST, and pull the luggage compartment door hinge from the torsion bar.




d. Slowly lift SST, and remove the torsion bar from the torsion bar bracket with SST.
e. Remove the torsion bar.
f. Employ the same manner described above to the other side.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL TORSION BAR




a. Insert the torsion bar into the bracket.

HINT: The center bracket opening is the nominal position of the torsion bar. If needed, move the torsion bar to the upper or lower hole to provide the correct luggage door lift.




b. Install the SST onto the torsion bar of the hinge side.

c. Slowly lift the torsion bar with the SST and place it in the torsion bar bracket.




d. Slowly push the SST down and install the torsion bar to the hinge.
e. Slowly lift the SST and install the torsion bar.
f. Install the 2 torsion bars to the center bracket.
g. Employ the same manner described above to the other side.

2. INSTALL PACKAGE TRAY TRIM
3. INSTALL TETHER ANCHOR

a. Install the tether anchor by tightening the bolt.

Torque: 20 N.m (204 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf)

b. Install the CRS tether anchor cover to the tether anchor.
c. Employ the same manner described above to the other sides.




4. INSTALL ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH

HINT: Employ the same manner described above to the other side.

5. INSTALL HIGH-MOUNTED STOP LIGHT
a. Connect the connector, then install the high-mounted stop light with the 2 bolts.
b. Install the cover.

6. INSTALL ROOM PARTITION TRIMS




Install the room partition trim with 7 clips.

7. INSTALL REAR SEAT
8. INSTALL LUGGAGE TRIM LH AND RH
9. INSTALL REAR FLOOR FINISH SIDE PLATE LH AND RH
10. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT
11. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR
a. Install the door with 4 bolts.
b. Install clamps.
c. Connect the connector.

12. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR TRIM




13. CHECK LUGGAGE DOOR LIFT
- Pop-up distance: 35 -100 mm
- Pop- up to 1/2 open:
Door should remain in any position.

- Past 1/2 open:
Door should open fully by itself.

- Full open position:
Door should not easily fall closed

If adjustment is necessary, refer to step 2-(a) above.
