EGR Temperature Sensor: Testing and Inspection

Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Gas Temperature Sensor:

COMPONENT

INSPECTION
1. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY

2. REMOVE EGR GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR
3. INSPECT EGR GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR




Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.
Resistance:
- At 50° C (122° F) 64 - 97 kOhms
- At 100° C (212° F) 11 - 16 kOhms
- At 150° C (302° F) 2 - 4 kOhms
- If the resistance is not as specified, replace the sensor.
4. REINSTALL EGR GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR
5. REINSTALL THROTTLE BODY
