Front Door Window Glass: Adjustments

ADJUSTMENT




1. FRONT DOOR ADJUSTMENT

HINT: Since the centering bolt is used as the door side hinge bolt, the door hinge cannot be adjusted with it on. Substitute the bolt with the washer for the centering bolt.




a. Adjust front door in forward/rearward and vertical directions.
Using SST, adjust the door by loosening the body side hinge bolts.
SST 09812-00010

Torque: 28 N.m (286 kgf.cm, 21 ft.lbf)




b. Adjust front door in left/right and vertical directions. Adjust the door by loosening the door side hinge bolts.

Torque: 27 N.m (275 kgf.cm, 20 ft.lbf)




c. Adjust front door look striker.
1. Check that the door fit and door lock linkages are adjusted correctly.
2. Adjust the striker position by slightly loosening the striker mounting screws, and hitting the striker with a hammer.
3. Tighten the striker mounting screws again.

Torque: 23 N.m (235 kgf.cm, 17 ft.lbf)




2. ADJUST DOOR GLASS
a. Adjust the upper part of the glass to the inside/outside.
1. Loosening the nut on the bottom of the front lower frame and the nuts on the bottom of the window regulator.
2. Using a hexagon wrench, turn the stud bolts to adjust the top edge of the glass in the horizontal direction.

HINT:
- When the stud bolt is loosened, top edge of the glass moves to inside of the room.
- When the stud bolt is tighten, top edge of the glass moves to outside of the room.

3. Tighten the nuts.

Torque: 13 N.m (133 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf)

HINT: When turning the nut with stud belt, be careful not to tighten it too hard.




4. In case the glass does not fit the front lower frame:
- Loosen the nut of the front lower frame.
- Using a screwdriver, adjust the mirror bracket in in/out direction by turning the stud bolt.




b. Adjust the lower part of the glass to the inside/outside.
1. Loosen the 2 nuts on the top of the window regulator.
2. Insert the shim to adjust the glass in in/out direction.

Shim thickness:
1.0 mm (0.039 in.)
2.0 mm (0.079 in.)

3. Tighten the nuts.

Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf)




c. Adjust the glass in position (forward/rearward) and attitude.
Loosen the 3 nuts of the carrier plate and adjust.




d. Adjust the glass in position (vertical) and attitude (when glass fully closed).
Adjust the door window upper stops.

Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf)
