NO.1 BOW HANDLE INSULATION

The No.1 bow pull down handle on the 2000 model year Solara Convertible may, in some instances, become uncomfortably warm if left in direct sun for extended periods. To help insulate the handle, a felt pad can be added as explained in the following procedure.

APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
2000 model year Solara Convertible.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

Apply felt pad material to the center pull down handle of the No. 1 bow.

1. Open convertible top.





2. Remove the 6 screws (shown in illustration) to gain access to the center pull down handle.





3. Pull up the black plastic cover of the No.1 bow to gain access to the underside of the center pull-down handle.





4. Apply the felt pad to the underside of the pull down handle.
A. Clean surface with alcohol.
B. Fold felt pad along dotted line.
C. Apply to the handle as shown in illustration. Fold should line up with edge of pull down handle.

5. Reinstall screws.
