Knock Sensor: Testing and Inspection

COMPONENTS

INSPECTION

1. REMOVE SUSPENSION UPPER BRACE
2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE
3. REMOVE RH ENGINE MOUNTING STAY
4. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY AND WATER OUTLET .

5. REMOVE KNOCK SENSORS
a. Disconnect the knock sensor connector.




b. Using SST, remove the knock sensor.
SST 09817-16011

6. INSPECT KNOCK SENSORS




Using an ohmmeter, check that there is no continuity between the terminal and body.
If there is continuity, replace the sensor.

7. REINSTALL KNOCK SENSORS
a. Using SST, install the knock sensor.
SST 09817-16011

Torque: 39 Nm (400 kg.cm, 29 ft.lb)

b. Connect the knock sensor connector.

8. REINSTALL WATER OUTLET AND INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY .
9. REINSTALL RH ENGINE MOUNTING STAY
10. REINSTALL AIR CLEANER HOSE

11. INSTALL SUSPENSION UPPER BRACE
Install the suspension upper brace with the 4 nuts.

Torque: 80 Nm (820 kg.cm, 59 ft.lb.)
