Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair

REPLACEMENT

1. REMOVE CONVERTER
a. Jack up the vehicle.
b. Check that the converter is cool.

c. Remove the 2 bolts and exhaust pipe stay.

Torque: 33 Nm (330 kg.cm, 24 ft.lb)

d. Remove the 2 bolts holding the center exhaust pipe to the tailpipe.

Torque: 19 Nm (190 kg.cm, 14 ft.lb)

e. Remove the bolt, clamp holding the front exhaust pipe to the center pipe.

Torque: 32 Nm (320 kg.cm, 24 ft.lb)

f. Remove the center exhaust pipe and 2 gaskets.

HINT: At the time of installation, please refer to the following item.
Install a new gasket to the pipe assembly.

2. INSTALL CONVERTER
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
