Removal and Installation




COMPONENTS

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE THESE PARTS:
a. Glove compartment door
b. Side trim cover
c. Lower finish panel
d. Lower insert panel

2. DISCONNECT HEATER CONTROL CABLES




a. Disconnect the air inlet control cable from blower unit.




b. Disconnect the air mix control cable from heater unit.




c. Disconnect the mode control cable from heater unit.

3. REMOVE HEATER CONTROL PANEL




a. Remove the A/C switch.
b. Remove the heater control knobs.




c. Pull out the heater control panel.




4. REMOVE HEATER CONTROL ASSEMBLY
Remove the 3 screws and pull out the heater control assembly, then disconnect the connectors.

INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

1. AFTER INSTALLATION, INSPECT HEATER CONTROL LEVER OPERATION
Move the control lever and left and right then check that click sound can be heard and recoil is felt.
If click sound can not be heard or recoil is felt, proceed next step.

2. ADJUST HEATER CONTROL CABLES
a. Set heater control assembly in these conditions:
1. Air inlet lever in "RECIRC" position
2. Mode control lever in "DEF" position
3. Temperature control lever in "COOL" position




b. Adjust air inlet control cable.
1. Set air inlet control damper lever by "RECIRC" position
2. Install the inner cable to lever pin and clamp the outer cable.

HINT: Lock the clamp while light by pushing the outer cable to the direction shown by arrow in the illustration.




c. Adjust mode control cable.
1. Set air inlet control damper lever by "RECIRC" position
2. Install the inner cable to lever pin and clamp the outer cable

HINT: Lock the clamp while light by pushing the outer cable to the direction shown by arrow in the illustration.




d. Adjust air mix control cable.
1. Set air mix damper lever to "COOL" position
2. Install the inner cable to lever pin and clamp the outer cable

HINT: Lock the clamp while light by pushing the outer cable to the direction shown by arrow in the illustration.
