Removal and Replacement
REMOVAL1. DISCONNECT SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER CONNECTOR
2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATES
3. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARDS
Remove the 2 clips and cowl side trim board.
4. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL
5. REMOVE COMBINATION SWITCH
6. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVERS
Remove the 4 screws and steering column covers.
7. REMOVE CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
Remove the screw and cluster finish panel.
8. REMOVE COMBINATION METER
Remove the 4 screws and combination meter.
9. REMOVE HOOD LOCK RELEASE LEVER
10. REMOVE LOWER FINISH PANEL
Remove the 2 screws and lower finish panel.
11. U.S.A. Only:
REMOVE LOWER PANEL INSERT
12. REMOVE NO. 2 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT
13. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY
14. REMOVE CENTER CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
a. Remove the 2 screws.
b. Using a screwdriver, remove the panel.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
15. REMOVE CLUSTER INSTRUMENT PANEL
a. Pull off the heater control knobs.
b. Canada:
Remove the 2 screws.
c. Using a screwdriver, remove the heater control name plate.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
d. Pry off the cluster instrument panel, then remove the 3 screws from the heater control assembly.
e. Disconnect the connectors, then remove the cluster instrument panel.
16. REMOVE HEATER CONTROL AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY
17. REMOVE RADIO
18. REMOVE SIDE TRIM COVER
19. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX
20. REMOVE LOWER CENTER CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
a. Using a screwdriver, remove the lower center cluster finish panel.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
b. Disconnect the connectors.
21. REMOVE STEREO OPENING COVER
22. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR
a. Press in the glove compartment door and bring it toward you.
b. Remove the 2 screws and glove compartment door.
23. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL
a. Disconnect the connectors.
b. Remove the ground bolts.
c. Remove the bolts.
d. Disconnect the connectors.
e. Remove the 2 ground bolts.
f. Remove the 2 bolts, 4 screws and 2 nuts.
g. Remove the instrument panel, then disconnect the connectors.
24. REMOVE NO.1 BRACE
Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and No. 1 brace.
25. REMOVE NO. 2 BRACE
Remove the bolt, nut and No. 2 brace.
26. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT
Remove the 3 bolts, 4 nuts and instrument panel reinforcement.
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
