Front Door: Service and Repair
DISASSEMBLY1. w/o Power window:
REMOVE REGULATOR HANDLE
Pull off the snap ring with a cloth and remove the regulator handle and plate.
HINT: At the time of reassembly, please refer to the following item. With door window fully closed, install the plate and regulator handle with the snap ring.
2. REMOVE DOOR INSIDE HANDLE
a. Remove the screw and slide the handle forward.
b. Disconnect the handle from the control link and remove the handle.
3. REMOVE INNER COVER
Using a screwdriver, remove the inner cover.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
4. w/o Power window:
REMOVE DOOR TRIM
a. Remove the clip.
b. w/ Wide armrest:
Remove the 2 caps and 2 screws from the armrest.
c. Insert a screwdriver between the retainer and door trim pry it loose.
NOTE: Be careful not to damage the door and door trim.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
d. Pull the trim upward to remove it.
e. w/ Wide armrest:
Remove the 5 screws and armrest.
5. w/ Power window:
REMOVE DOOR TRIM
a. Remove the clip.
b. Remove the armrest panel by pulling upward, then disconnect the connectors.
c. Remove the 2 caps and 2 screws.
d. Insert a screwdriver between the retainer and door trim to pry it loose.
NOTE: Be careful not to damage the door and door trim.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
e. Pull the trim upward to remove it.
f. Remove the 5 screws and armrest.
6. REMOVE DOOR SPEAKER
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the 5 screws and speaker.
7. REMOVE SERVICE HOLE COVER
a. Remove the 2 grommets.
b. Remove the service hole cover.
HINT: At the time of reassembly, please refer to the following item. Bring out the link and connector through the service hole cover.
8. REMOVE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR
a. w/ Remote control:
Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the 3 bolts and outer rear view mirror.
9. REMOVE OUTER WEATHERSTRIP
10. REMOVE GLASS RUN
11. REMOVE FRONT LOWER FRAME
Remove the bolt, nut and front lower frame.
12. REMOVE DOOR GLASS
HINT: Insert a shop rag inside the door panel to prevent scratching the glass.
a. Open the door glass until the nuts appear in the service hole.
b. Remove the 2 bolts and door glass.
NOTE: Do not damage the door glass.
HINT: Pull the glass upward to remove it.
13. REMOVE REAR LOWER FRAME
Remove the bolt, nut, and rear lower frame.
14. REMOVE WINDOW REGULATOR
a. w/o Power window:
Remove the 5 bolts and regulator.
Torque: 4.9 N.m (50 kgf.cm, 43 in.lbf)
b. w/ Power window:
Disconnect the connector, then remove the 6 bolts and window regulator.
Torque: 4.9 N.m (50 kgf.cm, 43 in.lbf)
HINT: At the time of reassembly, please refer to following item. Apply MP grease to the window regulator rollers.
NOTE:
- At the time of reassembly, please refer to the following item.
- Do not apply grease to the spring of the window regulator.
15. REMOVE DOOR LOCK
a. Disconnect the 2 links from the outside handle.
b. w/ Power door lock:
Disconnect the connector.
c. Remove the 3 screws and door lock.
HINT:
- At the time of reassembly, please refer to following items.
- Apply adhesive to the 3 screws.
Part No. 08833-00070, THREE BOND 1324 or equivalent
- Apply MP grease to the sliding and rotating parts of the door lock.
16. REMOVE OUTSIDE HANDLE
a. Remove the 2 bolts.
Torque: 4.9 N.m (50 kgf.cm, 43 in.lbf)
b. Remove the lock cylinder.
REASSEMBLY
Reassembly is in the reverse order of disassembly.
