Introduction
Some customers may experience the rear woofer making a humming noise or a rattle condition in the 2000 - * 2001 model year Solara Convertible. This is a result of the woofer box vibrating against the lower body panel. A field fix has been developed to improve this condition.

This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.
* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.
Repair Procedure
1. Refer to page BO-22 of the 2000 Camry Solara * Convertible Repair Manual Supplement (Pub. No. RM761U) for details on removing the rear seat (to access the woofer box).
2. Remove rear woofer box and install EPT foam all the way around the base where the speaker mounts (see illustration shown).
3. Add EPT foam to woofer box between woofer box and body panel as shown.
