Introduction

This bulletin addresses wind noise originating from the hood protector area of the Highlander. This is resolved by installing a weatherstrip seal with the hood protector.

Applicable Vehicles
^ 2001 - 2004 model year Highlander vehicles.

Repair Procedure

1. Remove screws from current hood protector.





A. Remove the two middle screws from the hood protector. The two screws are at the locations shown in Figure 1.

B. Retain the two screws for later use.

2. Install weatherstrip.

A. The weatherstrip (P/N 53395-48010) will have 7 clips.





B. Remove the two clips from the weatherstrip shown in Figure 2.

C. Line up all the clips on the weatherstrip with their corresponding holes on the hood.

D. Press the clips through the weatherstrip and into each hole on the hood.





E. Use the two screws removed earlier in Step 1, and install them at their original locations, through the weatherstrip, through the hood protector, and into the holes in the hood shown in Figure 3.
