Introduction
Beginning with the 2001 model year Highlander, new style (high security) keys have been introduced. The new keys have ten (10) cuts (5 on each side) instead of the current eight (8) cuts (4 on each side). Most of the current hand punch type key code cutting machines will NOT produce the required number of cuts. Also, if you have computerized or bench type code cutting equipment, they must be upgraded for these new keys.

Applicable Vehicles
^ 2001 model year Highlander vehicles.

NOTE:
2002 model year Camry and Corolla models will also incorporate this new style 10-cut key.





Required 10-Cut Key Machine Upgrades
If you own one of the machines, upgrades will be necessary to service 10-cut keys by code (Refer to chart).





Warranty Information





Available 10-Cut Key Machines
If you do NOT currently own one of the above mentioned key cutting machines, you may purchase one of the following machines capable of serving 10-cut keys (Refer to chart).





Duplicators (with 10-Cut Key Capability)
The machines are duplicators only: They will duplicate an existing key (including 10-cut keys), but will NOT cut any keys from code.
