M.I.L."ON" CODE P0773/C1301

Under certain driving conditions, some 2001 model year Avalon's and Sienna's may exhibit M.I.L. "ON" with DTC P0773 (Shift Solenoid E Electrical Malfunction). The Engine Control Module (ECM) was revised to correct this condition.

APPLICABLE VEHICLES: 2001 model year Avalon and Sienna vehicles.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

Perform diagnosis as indicated in the applicable vehicle Repair Manual. If no trouble is found during wire and solenoid checks, replace the engine ECM with the "Current Part Number" ECM.

NOTE:
For vehicles equipped with VSC, the "VSC" and "VSC Off" lights may illuminate when the engine ECM detects "1st trip" criteria for code P0773. In such a case, ABS/VSC code C1301 will be stored, but the MIL will not illuminate. The engine ECM will not store code P0773 and illuminate the M.I.L., until the engine ECM detects "2nd trip" criteria for DTC P0773.
