Body Structure (Double Cab Model)1. General
As with the regular cab and extra cab models, the double cab model has adopted a body construction that achieves high levels of both rigidity and safety.
2. Lightweight and Highly Rigid Body
High Strength Sheet Steel
High strength sheet steel has been used on the double cab model in order to ensure body rigidity and realize a lightweight body.
Cabin
^ The reinforcements have been effectively located to ensure high rigidity.
^ A collar has been provided on the area where the rear door hinge is attached to achieve a more rigid construction.
Floor Panel
The cross members and the reinforcement have been effectively located to ensure high rigidity and reduction of noise and vibration.
Rear Door
A pipe type side impact protection beam has been provided in the rear door to provide high level of the safety performance against side impacts and to ensure high rigidity.
Engine Hood
^ A prepreg sheet* has been affixed to the front end of the engine hood to increase its strength.
^ A cushion has been provided at the rear end of the engine hood to increase its rigidity.
* Prepreg Sheet: Sheet with double layered structure of fiberglass cloth material and epoxy resin
