Rear Door: Service and Repair
DISASSEMBLYHINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before using it to pry parts.
1. w/o Power window:
REMOVE REGULATOR HANDLE
Pull off the snap ring with a cloth and remove the regulator handle and plate.
HINT: At the time of reassembly, install the plate and regulator handle with the snap ring when the window glass is fully closed.
2. REMOVE DOOR INSIDE HANDLE
a. Remove the screw, and slide the door inside handle forward.
b. Disconnect the control link and remove the handle.
3. REMOVE ARMREST
Using a screwdriver, pry and remove the armrest during pushing the armrest outer vehicle.
4. w/ Power window:
REMOVE POWER WINDOW SWITCH
Using a screwdriver, remove the power window switch by pulling upward and disconnect the connector.
5. REMOVE DOOR TRIM
a. Remove the 2 screws.
b. Using a screwdriver, remove the door trim upward.
6. REMOVE SPEAKER
Disconnect the connector and remove the 3 screws and speaker.
7. REMOVE SERVICE HOLE COVER
a. Disconnect the 2 control links from the door and door lock knob.
b. Disconnect the wire harness by removing the clip.
c. Remove the service hole cover.
8. REMOVE WINDOW GLASS
a. Using a screwdriver, remove the outer weatherstrip.
b. Remove the glass run.
c. Remove the 4 screws and 2 brackets.
d. Open the window glass until seeing the 2 bolts of window glass.
e. Remove the 2 bolts and window glass.
9. REMOVE WINDOW REGULATOR
a. w/ Power window:
Remove the 4 bolts and window regulator.
b. w/o Power window:
Remove the 3 bolts and window regulator.
HINT: At the time of reassembly, apply MP grease to the window regulator rollers as shown in the illustration.
10. REMOVE FRONT LOWER FRAME
a. Remove the cap near the door hinge.
b. Remove the bolt, nut and front lower frame.
c. Remove the lower glass run.
11. REMOVE REAR LOWER FRAME
a. Remove the protector.
b. Remove the bolt, nut and rear lower frame.
c. Remove the lower glass run.
12. REMOVE DOOR LOCK KNOB
Remove the door lock knob link and door lock knob.
13. REMOVE OUTER DOOR HANDLE
a. Disconnect the control link of the door lock.
b. Remove the cap near the door lock.
c. Remove the 2 bolts and outer door handle.
14. REMOVE DOOR LOCK
a. w/ Power door lock:
Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the 2 control links.
c. Using a torx socket wrench (T30), remove the 3 bolts and door lock.
Torque: 5.0 N.m (50 kgf.cm, 43 in.lbf)
HINT:
At the time of reassembly, please refer to the following items.
- Apply adhesive to the 3 screws
Part No. 08833-00070, THREE BOND 1324 or equivalent
- Apply MP grease to the sliding and rotating parts of the door lock.
15. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS
REASSEMBLY
Reassembly is in the reverse order of disassembly procedure.
