Introduction
Some 2002 and 2003 model year V6 Camry vehicles produced at TMMK may exhibit a triple shock (shudder) during the 2-3 up shift under "light throttle" acceleration. Follow the repair procedure in this bulletin to adjust the condition on applicable vehicles.

Warranty Information
Applicable warranty *
This repair is covered under the Toyota Federal Emissions Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 96 months or 80,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.
* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.
Repair Procedure
1. Connect the Diagnostic Tester to the vehicle.
2. Reset the ECM (PCM). Refer to the procedures below.
Test Drive
1. Start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature before test-driving.
2. Perform a thorough test drive with several accelerations from a stop with "light throttle" application to confirm the 2-3 triple shock condition was adjusted.
NOTE:
The reset memory tunction will gradually change the shudder and may become more apparent after completing a thorough test drive as the ECM (PCM) "learned values" are re-established.
