Initial Learning of Transmission Control ECU
PERFORM INITIAL LEARNING OF TRANSMISSION CONTROL ECU AFTER PARTS REPLACEMENTNOTE:
After exchanging, removing and installing one of the following parts and exchanging the transmission control ECU, perform the initial learning of the transmission control ECU.
- HPU assembly
- GSA assembly
- Shift stroke sensor
- Select stroke sensor
- Clutch stroke sensor
- Transmission Assembly or Transmission component parts
- Clutch cover
- Clutch disc
a. Satisfy the following vehicle conditions.
- Stop the vehicle.
- Close the driver side door.
- Shift the lever into the N position.
- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
b. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
c. Turn the ignition switch ON and push the hand-held tester main switch ON.
d. Select PART EXCHANGE on the DIAGNOSTIC MENU.
e. Follow the prompts on the display.
HINT: For details, refer to the hand-held tester operation manual.
f. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
g. Turn the ignition switch ON once again and leave the vehicle for 60 seconds or more.
HINT:
N position indicator lights up.
If the indicator light does not come on, do the operations again from step(f).
h. Start the engine.
HINT: In 10 seconds after the N position indicator flashes and the buzzer sounds, N position indicator will charge from flashing to lighting and the buzzer will stop. If it is the case that the indicator light will not change from flashing to lighting and the buzzer will not stop either, turn the ignition switch OFF and do the operations again from step (h).
i. Shift the lever into the S position.
HINT: S1 position indicator lights up
j. Drive the vehicle at 5 km/h - 35 km/h by keeping 1st gear.
HINT:
When the vehicle runs beyond 5 km/h or more, the sequential indicator lights up for 1 second. The operation of the ECU learning is completed then.
If the indicator light will not come on for 1 second, do the operations again from step (d).
